I used my DJI OSMO OM4 and the Mimo app for Android to do this timelapse from my roof. There is no way to zoom in closer, so, honestly the timelapse is rather boring. But I shot it over a 2 hour period and it costs me nothing to upload it to YouTube, so here it is.

One summer night I went outside, Pewaukee, WI, in the wee-hours to watch the blood moon. It was not a warm night and I sat there watching it get chilly.
It was cool to watch though.
I did catch a cold but it was worth it.

Interesting that you feel the effort was worth it, even to the point of getting sick by being outside on a cold night. I have spent literally hundreds of nights outdoors with my Pentax telescope. I miss not having a telescope anymore and I would like to get another one someday.
I still remember my first lunar eclipse. I was in elementary school in St. Pete, FL. We sat on a blanket in the front yard along with the girl next door, who was like a big-sister to our family. I can still see the moon hanging in space and looking very 3 dimensional, almost like you could reach out and touch it.
Phoenix has seen at least 2 lunar eclipses (maybe 3) but it's only been recently that she's now old enough to really appreciate what they are. She did correctly conclude that a planet was casting the shadow but not clear about it being the Earth. I had some fun with her waving our arms to see if we could see our hand shadows on the moon, lol.
We also saw Venus last night and I explained why it quickly disappears from the night sky. She seems to understand the principle.
Thanks @DeanSMS.
